Description
Die Erbschaft, meaning Heritage in German, is an on-going photo series investigating a phenomenon in Germany - people, no matter in which age groups, will keep the used furniture from their parents and grandparents. A friend transported a sofa from her grandma from Hamburg to Cologne, while my colleague keeps a wardrobe from her grandma that contains traces brought by a boom explosion in the Second World War.
It’s such a common thing to do so no one in Germany actually knows where exactly this phenomenon comes from. As a person coming from a fast-paced city, I am curious to find out more about it and reflect, if there’s also a similar phenomenon in Hongkong.
